Here are just a few varieties that are grown in Washington.



Apples with Honey-Cream Cheese Dip


1 Red Delicious apple,  cored and chopped
1 Granny Smith apple, cored and chopped
1 Gala apple, cored and chopped
1 Golden Delicious apple, cored and chopped
or use 4 of your favorite varieties of Washington apples
1 Tablespoon lemon juice
8 ounces of cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup honey
1 teaspoon lemon zest
Ground pistachio nuts


In a shallow bowl, combine the apple slices and lemon juice to prevent browining.  In a small bowl, mix cream cheese, honey and lemon zest until well blended.  Garnish with ground pistachio nuts on top.  Arrange sliced apples on a platter and serve with dip.
